English section
Starting September 2025 our school will be enriched with a very important "new entry", to offer a service that is always keeping up with times. A completely English-language Kindergarten section is opening, with all certified native speakers. However, there remains a direct link with the language of our country: during the day the children have the opportunity to learn and practice Italian through activities and workshops with the other three sections, as well as during the convivial moment of lunch.
The new section benefits from totally renovated spaces and rooms. It is located on the first floor of the Gribaudi: it is over 80 square meters with a classroom, bathroom and room for games, activities and workshops. A certification process for the English section by competent bodies has been started.
Why teach English from an early age?
Coming into contact with the English language since childhood is seen by children as fun. Their "linguistic window" is wide open and this allows them to learn a possible second language in a natural way. This is because, as children, we have maximum brain and phonics moldability, and a strong imitative ability. Learning a second language at a very young age creates physical exercise for the brain which then allows children to learn other languages easily, because the brain has learned that exercise.
Children are involved through the use of songs, listening to fairy tales, playing games, drawing and other activities. In this way they learn a second language in a natural way, without effort and without the need for explicit instruction, but through what for them is a game.
Recent international studies have shown that bilingualism represents a very important resource for the child, providing both cultural and linguistic benefits.
Many parents wonder if this linguistic split could confuse their little ones. That's not the case! It has been widely demonstrated that children have an innate ability to distinguish the sounds of different languages and learning is actually an innate process. For this reason, they have no difficulty learning the sounds that characterize two or more languages, and the fact of speaking different languages is perceived by children as one of the aspects that can differentiate people.
